Just listening to a fabulous play-list of classic jazz band 78's from (YouTube handle) "edmundusrex" and the pic posted with this cut shows how to record a group with one mic:

WHAT-How DARE you suggest that musicians actually play as a GROUP-that is trying to convey a musical message to the audience.

It is FAR better to have a battle for level on stage-and place the blame on gear and the sound guy as to why it doesn't sound "right".

And if we use the right "kick drum mic" all things will come together.

Where have you been man-you are soooooo dated. Get with it!
