Re: How to hook-up the Behringer Xenyx x1204 Mixer to a Dj system?
This is easy.
Step 1: Get some insulated wire from your local Radio-shack.
Step 2: Connect one of them from the center post of your power cable input located on the back of your mixer and run it to the positive output from your wall socket.
Step 3: Take another and connect it to another post on either side of the center post on the power cable input on the back of the mixer and make sure to leave the other end bare.
Step 4: Cross the streams.

Waaaiiitttt that doesn't seem right. I think that was for the old Behringer amps, sorry.
First step is to determine what you are trying to use as an input to the mixer. If it is a low-impedance microphone like a Shure SM58, plug the female and of an XLR cable into the mic and the cable's male end into an input on the mixer. Configure the preamp section on the console and it should work.
If you are trying to get an RCA output from a CD player or a similar playback device to the mixer, you will need to get an adapter of some kind. I highly suggest the Whirlwind pcDI. If that is not possible, an adapter from the RCA to a pair of XLR connectors should do the job well. Just plug them in to the mixer and configure the inputs as line inputs, and if possible, put the two inputs onto a stereo pair.
From the outputs to the speakers/amps, you will most likely need an XLR cable. Plug the female end of the XLR cable to your mixer's left output, and the male end into your powered speaker's or amplifier's input for the left side of the stereo. Do the same with your right side.
Power on your system in the appropriate order. Make sure to route your inputs to the L/R main buss. If the system doesn't work, I highly suggest you stop using the mixer to avoid damaging your investment, and promptly contact a qualified professional who can come down and teach you in person about how to properly set up your system.
