I don't even have to drop the DI. The distributed system is already cross patched with the live rig. I can put either in the other with absolute minimal fuss.
But the owner doesn't want the DJs running through the live rig when I am not there and this guy usually works on a night when I am not there. Giving the way he acted on arrival, I would rather he not know that it is even possible.
On the other hand, the guy DJing on Friday came in, had a reasonable conversation about what he wanted, but softened by "if possible" and got it all.
The first part of my post was a people problem, not a technical problem.
