I am trapped in a strange world

Re: I am trapped in a strange world

My theory on that is........ that given an OK sound for the given space it's fairly easy to make the kick drum go boom and the bass guitar nothing more that a low frequency vibration. To create a true "mix" takes some finesse. Regardless of the level you work some have the finesse others will never find it, plain and simple.

Hello Mike,
If I could expand on that it would be that there is a certain power rush with "creating" that kick drum feel.
The person at the board feels in control, and part of the performance. Instead of just presenting the band in an egalitarian manner.

Well, did you walk up to the FOH guy and tell him you were the mandolin player's girlfriend?

Actually, I was sitting at FOH next to the guy mixing not saying a thing. You know, when someone else is driving...

And the mandolin player's girlfriend is the guitar player/lead vocalist.
