I used to work at the largest (at the time) country venue here in Atlanta. I thought it was funny to watch the dancers go from line dancing to hip-hop and then back again.

ahh Dew Drop... Glad to see you made it out with out falling in.
I work with a lot of the rock cover bands and they along with the bar wants hip-hop/dance played between sets breaks.
When I'm working with an Original Artists, I'll play music that relates to the genre.

I've experienced places like that in my travels. Last one was in a...let's say...culturally up-and-coming small town. I was hanging out at this one place just because that was all there was to do. It was either that or go back to my hotel and watch TV. But that was about ten years ago.
I guess what matters to me is what kind of hip hop these people are dancing to. I could see them line dancing to some of the ''old-skool'' stuff from the 70's and 80's. People have been doing that kind of shit at weddings and bat/bar mitzvahs for something like 30 years. Now on the other hand, if they are line dancing to something like M&M, then I ''really'' wouldn't understand.

Friday Night I was in a barn dance and they were line dancing to Jimmy Eat World's ''The Middle'' and the Counting Crows ''Mr. Jones''

I go as far away as I can on Tiki Bar weekend. That included all of the years I kept my boat in a marina directly across from there. They have really worked to clean it up some, but like I really need to go to a giant street party to see my high school students.
