There was an Electrovoice DX38, which the customers had bought and paid for as a line billable item on their installation contract. Inputs and outputs were connected, but the unit was doing absolutely nothing. All the EQs were bypassed, gains were at unity, etc. etc. Meanwhile there is a 31 band graphic upstream of the inputs which the installers have hacked to bits. So the only thing the DX38 was doing was adding a millisecond or so of latency.
