I need to connect a regular XLR-Female cable to an AKG bodypack

The AKG manual says the following:

The PT 450 bodypack transmitter has been designed primarily for use with ''L'' type MicroMic Series

microphones from AKG (see section 2.7). If you wish to connect other microphones from AKG or other

manufacturers to the PT 450, please note that you may have to rewire the existing connector of your

microphone or replace it with a 3-pin mini XLR connector.

Audio input pinout:

Pin 1: shield

Pin 2: audio (inphase)

Pin 3: audio

A positive supply voltage of 6 volts for condenser microphones is available on pin 3.

But do I need to do anything with the 6 volts on pin 3? Does it need a resistor somewhere? I intend to feed the bodypack with either a DI box or a line output from various equipment.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Silas,

Bodypack input isn't balanced, therefore just keep it simple :

Female XLR's 1 & 3 to pin 1 and

Female XLR's pin 2 to pin 2

Leave (biased) pin 3 opened

Setup works for me.
