I use the Aviom monitor system with ear buds (drummer). I am being asked to communicate with the tech running the board for a concert via 2-way radio. I kow they make throat mics that will go in 2 way radios, but I also need to be able to hear him. How can I wire this?...I need to keep both ears in the aviom, but also have an ear for the 2 way, while still having the mic setup for comms. Any thoughts?

Re: In ear monitoring and a 2 way mic

The easiest way to do this is with a switched vocal mic. you turn on your mic, it feeds a speaker or headphones at the engineer's location. The engineer has a mic, and can feed it to a channel of the aviom monitors. A variation for singers uses an XLR A/B switch to alternately route the mic's signal to the mixing console OR to the talk back system. Avoid trying to interface a 2 way radio into your monitors.
