Dunno what BS they fed you but the Behringer site says:

NU6000 - 3100w/ch@4ohms, 1600w/ch@8ohms

NU12000 - 3400w/ch@4ohms, 1700w/ch@8ohms

Looks the same to me - except the NU12000 can do 2 ohms (if you modify it for camlocks? LOL)
