Is my receiver going to be able to handle this sound system?

I have a Denon AVR-S700W receiver and I want to get the BIC America PL200 subwoofer and two of the Formula FH6-LCR bookshelf speakers. Sense the subwoofer is active and will receive the signal from a pre out on the Denon receiver, I'm not worried about that aspect. I'm worried that the bookshelf speakers will break the receiver. Is it safe to run two of these on the Denon? They will be only the 2 speakers using the receivers amplifier as my entire 7.2 system will consist of these three speakers.

Last, if this system is compatible, what is a wire brand that will carry a high quality signal?

Thanks, Jackson

Re: Is my receiver going to be able to handle this sound system?

Per the specs, receiver is rated to deliver up to 80 watts at 8 ohms. The speakers can handle up to 175 watts. You won't damage the amp by attaching speakers that can handle more than the amp can deliver.

For cable, the only thing that matters is the gauge of the wire. You won't tell a bit of difference between using zip cord and some stupid expensive boutique wire, no matter what the marketing may tell you. For short runs in your home, 18 gauge wire will be sufficient. Any signal loss will be insignificant and unnoticeable compared to heavier gauge wire.
