The reason I have not pulled the trigger is that it would be a vanity project, not economically sensible. Keep in mind, I am mentally approaching this as a drummer looking for mics for my personal collection, not as SR guy. There have been various shootouts and I have heard acts come through with these, they did not disappoint. However, you are correct, samples are tending to be very widespread in modern production (I use them myself), so the usefulness of such mics is further relegated to "purist" gigs.
