My esteemed colleagues

The management of two of the venues I work with in SF have decreed that we have a "garage sale" at both venues today and tomorrow.

I have pretty good handle on the current worth of most of what we've extracted from the basements but have unearthed three JBL 2441 2 inch drivers, one with the tape cross on the back indicating a blown diaphragm.

What are these selling for currently?

I know that some Alnico JBL stuff fetches stupid money but not all.

cheers,
gramps

Re: JBL 2441 current value

Looks like the used ones that sold on ebay fetched from 175$-250$ hovering near 200$. If its going to be a garage sale and you are looking to offload them I would go for 150$ each. Assuming they are tested as functioning. That is of course IMHO.
Oops was looking at the 18" drivers. Only completed auction on the 2241 was 499$ for a 2 year old pair. Maybe 200$ each?
You should consider posting items to the Marketplace here for our shopping pleasure.

There is a strong collector market for cosmetically excellent examples, particularly in the Pacific Rim. They can be re-diaphragmed with TrueExtent berylliums for the Single Ended Triode amp crowd.

For professional use I wouldn't touch them. Alnico demags over time and remagnetizing costs $.
