JBL Vertec VT4888 or Meyer Sound JM-1P for a growing sound company

Hi folks

May I ask the learned folks of this forum for their advice.

I am about to spend a lot of money on the next level upgrade our kit to take us beyond JBL SRX.

Firstly, I cannot afford the VTX but I can afford the Vertec.

My objective is have a rig that I can grow with from 2000 to 10,000 indoors or outdoors, and it must be one type of system.

Type of music: Gospel, Jazz and some rock

The type of indoor venue is kinda like a basket ball indoor venue with the stage at one of the far sides. So there is the arena floor and then tiers of seats up the 3 sides ( left, right and back).

With this type of venue there is the challenge of the people on the arena floor and then the others in the stands.

And then of course, there is the terrible acoustics of the steal roof and walls.
.......................

I am favouring the the VT4888DP (self powered) with the new STX828S subs, to direct the sound directly at the audience.

I am also partial to the Meyer Sound JM-1P as a way to cover the same area with more precision and less brute force coming only from the front.
.....

There is also the L-Acoustics ARCS WIDE and ARCS FOCUS ... but these seem under-powered.

This system is similar to Meyer Sound JM-1P in many ways but the JM-1P has seems to be able to cater for larger audiences.
...........

If you have an opinion on this I'd appreciate your views before I make a costly mistake.

Regards and thanks folks.

The growling sound you're hearing is all the curmudgeons and sticklers wanting you to observe forum protocol and use your real, full name to participate.

Grrrrrrrrr.

To be honest if i had to buy loudspeakers i would not look to JBL for a lot of reasons .
The most important ones being i do not trust the amps that come allong with it and i do not like the sound coming from it and it takes to long to get it sounding the way i want a sound set-up to sound .
It doesn't mean i will not work with a JBL rig but it will take me longer to get the sound i like out of it .
On the other hand i do not know if the JM-1p is powerfull enough to do a rockshow for 2000 people or more ....
For Gospel and jazz they will do perfectly but rock i do not know . So how many JM-1p's per side/array do you want to put into action ?
You might consider doing a shootout on a JM-1p and also on a vertec rig just to see what suits your needs best .

Vertec is going to be your best option IMO. It's a widely known, and widely accepted box. It sounds good, gets loud, scales up and down well, and most importantly, has great ROI. I am a big fan of the VT4888DP. I feel like those are JBL's best box in the vertec line. I've used 14/side for 9,000 and they've done a fantastic job. They work well in small lines, and really just shine when you start to get a large sum of boxes.

What mids to you recommend ... I was thinking of 8xVT4888DP + 8 STX828s docuble subs .... I have enough stage and filler equipment with my SRX kit.
