Since it is extremely difficult to diagnose a ground/neutral swap the best course of action is to demand a real tie in with separate wires that you can trace back to a panel.Since Real Venues hire Real Electricians to do their electrical work, every piece of miswired electrical I have encountered has been installed by a Real Electrician.
