Tim made me think of this:

How do you know when you are playing in the big leagues?

BE: what mic should I use for ...

Big league provider: Doesn't matter to me. Here is a list of 8 different mics from 5 different companies that I can give you right now. If you bothered to call a couple of weeks ago, we could have had any current production mic you wanted for an appropriate fee.

Little league provider: You absolRdutely need to use ... Because it is the absolute best on ... It also halpens to be the only thing I have.

Ive had BE's tell me to put whatever i feel like on the stage. They just care that they have signal that sounds decent. They're usually the better engineers too. When they're picky and dont carry their own mics is when it gets "fun".

Re: Level test

Well the collection that was at the side stage I just walked up to had to be seen to be believed. Including a shure unisphere b, a shure brothers unisphere I, and three PE 15's plus 3 instrument mics that I cant even identify they have lost so much finish. The kit was finished off with an onstage osm 800 that looks about 10 minutes old.
