Live mixing seminar by Robert Scovill in Oslo, Norway

Hello all.

First of all, I'm generally not a proponent of crossposting between forums, but I have done so on this one as I want to reach out to people who only read one forum.

This is primarily for the benefit of Norwegian users of Soundforums.net:

On May 19th 2011 Robert Scovill will be visiting the main offices of Benum in Oslo, Norway for a live mixing seminar. I think his name alone speaks volumes and encourage anyone who can to sign up after reading this notification:

http://www.benum.no/shop/?ArticleId=318

The seminar is free of charge.

Disclaimer: I have no affiliation with Benum other than being a satisfied customer there.

Probably because he uses Avid consoles, Benum is the national distributor :)

We had Buford Jones here a month ago, and it represents a change in seminar frequency. Audio workshops and seminars used to be verry uncommon here, but it's been improving lately. I like this trend, and I do hope that our distributors raise their game and keep this up.

Due to great interest in this seminar the location has been changed to a bigger venue than the Benum offices: The club "Latter" by "Aker Brygge".

Re: Live mixing seminar by Robert Scovill in Oslo, Norway

Hello again.

After attending yesterday, I'd say that anyone working as a mixer-person in live audio will find this class interesting. Mr. Scovill has an easy going humorous way of getting his points accross and there were plenty of laughs. It was a very interesting mix of conceptual stuff, AVID-stuff and real stories about real artists. If you ever want to know when and why Tom Petty changed out the Shure SM 57 you'll just have to attend this class .

I'll also tip my hat to Benum who hosted the event as they had gathered more mixer-persons that, according to Mr. Scovill, these classes do even in the US - and a show of hands revealed that the attendees were mixer-persons and not salespeople.
