Yesterday I was recording a show directly from an LS9 to a USB stick and encountered a strange behavior. I was using this combined DOK and MP3 player thingy (don't remember the brand) that was supplied by the client. It had almost 2GB available so capacity was no problem, and was recognized and formatted properly by the console. I made two short test recordings that went fine. I started recording the main show and after about 58 minutes a big red message window came up on the LS9 display saying something about stopping the recording due to some memory problem (don't remember the exact text). Luckily this happened during a break in the program so I immediately switched to my backup DOK and proceeded to record the rest of the show. I was later relieved to find that the first 'stopped' recording was finalized and saved properly on the DOK. I never tried recording long continues takes with this setup before, so my question is, is there a time limit for continues recording onto a DOK, or maybe this was a problem caused by some limits of the 'unique' DOK used? :)
