Someone told me that many sound equipments in US are imported from China. So now I looking for legitimate supplliers from China. Anyone help to tell me any suppliers from China who would sell legitimate products for sound reinforcement, if possible web address included. Thanks in advance.

Search out the chinese distributors representing large professional sound product companies. Many manufacture gear in China then ship it around the world. I don't know that they would sell direct to end users via the WWW, but they do sell lots of product in China through dealers.

Sometimes the manufacturer's websites will list foreign distributors or foreign sales representatives, so try to contact them.

Quan,

There are only a very few CMs in China building legitimate cabinetry for major brands to be sold in the USA, and there's a reason for that. Any of them who were found letting some finished cabinets go off the side of the production line would very shortly not be building any at all. These companies specialize in this work and a certain amount of trust.

The classic discussion surrounding offshore manufacture of speaker boxes, was that you were mostly shipping containers full of air so it wasn't cost effective, compared to shipping denser high value electronic products. However I recall when doing the math, over a decade ago now, even relatively low end speaker boxes could be sourced profitably from China.

The best way to manage actual product leaking out the back door of factories is to work only with large professional contract manufacturers, and secondly have a good handle on your distribution in all the countries where you sell products. This is very hard to do (impossible) for small companies, and I recall multiple incidents involving goods made for Peavey in factories in Taiwan or mainland China, ending up in other western countries. That is just life in this century.

The larger concern in my opinion is technology going home at night with the factory production engineers (inside their brains). Before QSC built a power amp in China (that didn't suck), the OEM offerings from Chinese companies were laughable. Now they all know the recipe to make that general amp design. Since then they seem to have acquired most of the newer amp technologies, give or take.

This too is an old story.

I think Quan is located in Vietnam and is looking for a reputable source to order name brand equipment from. Maybe someone on here might even know of a place to look into in Vietnam.

Ask Marty McCann... :-), Marty has given sound seminars for Peavey in Viet Nam (not his first time there).

If he lives in Viet Nam search out the VN distributors for the major manufacturers. They will know where their dealers are.

Indeed. Depends what the OP is looking for, but surely the manufacturer will be happy to find a way to sell to Vietnam - or any location.

Re: Look for Chinese Dealer for sound reinforcement equipment

It sounds as though the OP is looking for a way to source the products direct from the China manufacturers, eliminating the dealer and brand channel. While there are some unscrupulous factories that will sell over-run products out the side door at lower than dealer prices, this is not something that should be encouraged at all.

Re: Look for Chinese Dealer for sound reinforcement equipment

Actually the O.P posted in another forum (controlbooth) and I mentioned he would likely get some good results here. As there are a lot of international and touring members. Hopefully he will chime in as looks like you guys have been helpful.
Here is his original post.
I am from Viet Nam and also the newbie. In our country we do not apply sound reinforcement for theater, only totally acoustic or electric audio (meaning vocal sing directly to mic and the same with instruments). I have a plan for a rather small theater in the round 300m2 and 5m ceiling height. I have some questions for not so much professional acoustic theater:

1. In Vietnam audio gears mostly come from China. If for electric audio then speakers, processor ect.. the quality must be good enough. How about the gears for sound reinforcement, we can apply China product or there is a must that I have to buy from ebay.

2. Can you tell me all the audio gears for sound reinforcement I should have for my not-so-much-prefessional theater. Will I need DSP?

3. Instruments needed, for example: drum, guitar, violin ect.. Programs are only for Jazz, Vietnamese traditional songs, music only. For me I like jazz, trio and classic. But I do not need so much instruments on stage.

Thank you all.

Thank you all for your advices. This is my question in controlbooth, but I do not get enough answer from this. Maybe my question is in general too broad not specific cause' I am too new to prosound and have not much expreriences.
