Hey guys
Looking for some help. Anyone know of any compact double 15" power subs that have serious punch? Needs to fit in the back of a mini van with 4 12" tops and 2 monitors.
The budget is very healthy.
Thanks!

Re: Looking for compact double 15" subs...

The Fulcrum Acoustic TS215ac sounds like just what you want.

Operating Mode: Self-powered, w/ on-board DSP
Operating Range: 30 Hz to 154 Hz
LF Transducers: 2x 15.0″ woofers, 4.5″ voice coil; neodymium magnet
Amplifier Output Power: 2x 1600 W @ 4 Ω
Equalized Maximum SPL (peak / continuous): 140 dB / 134 dB (half space)
Dimensions (H x W x D): 445 x 852 x 660 mm / 17.5 x 33.5 x 26.0 in
Weight: 53.9 kg / 118.5 lb

The handles are especially nice for schlepping into a mini van, and the sub can be used for pole mounting top cabs.

Why double 15's? Shouldn't this question have been I need a (or a pair of) powered sub(s) that measure less than A" x B" x C", weigh less than D pounds and cover from E to F Hz, and it has a serious punch. Why does the driver size make a difference?

RCF TTS26A. I use these.

BassBoss SSP215. I haven't heard these but would expect outstanding performance. (formerly BassMaxx)

The Danley TH118 is about the same size and weight as a typical dual 15 sub. Might be something to consider.

Disclosure: I am a dealer for all of the above.

There's also the Danley TH-Mini to consider - each one is about equal to the output of an SRX718S above 50 Hz. I run a pair off a bridged Behringer NU3000.

EXACTLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Defining what the NEED is-rather than the tool required is MUCH more important.

What if a different sized driver could do the job better? What is MOST important-getting the job done-or what tool is used to do the job?

I am seeing this perspective more and more often with low budget band and club system 'designs.'
Someone sees a video of a product and decides to feature it as the defining factor in the design...usually without clear or defined goal of what the system is supposed to provide. This is exactly what the marketing hopes for.

Re: Looking for compact double 15" subs...

If only the people buying things had CLOSE to the same knowledge/skills as those paid to sell them, the world would be a much different place. Better or worse I don't know, but different: Yes.

To the OP:
EAW SB1000 are relatively compact double 18" boxes that pack great output for their size (and they have handy tilty rolly wheels!). They're not powered, but an IT8000 doesn't take up much room, nor do the cables.

What are you looking to do? Area to cover? You said punchy, but how low, and at what output are you looking for?

There are many boxes out on the market, and there are even more applications. If you're a bit more specific, the fine people here can be of great assistance.

Re: Looking for compact double 15" subs...

EAW has some new stackable thing designed by Dave Rat that looks interesting. I have not heard it, but it "LOOKS" like it would work well.
I still have some old Martins Bins in some garage someplace. Serious punch out of them.

Sorry, they are single 15 Micro Sub
