Looking for a microphone to hook up to a Sennheiser g3 belt pack for our worship leader. Any suggestions?

Open to opinions, on the style of mic, but I think an adjustable double ear will be best for him. Tried a single ear but it moved around too much for him.

I was looking at the Galaxy Audio HS3/HSD but those don't look like they have an adjustment for the over ear portion.

I hear great things about Countryman but I'm not sure we're ready to spend that much on a microphone.

Thanks!

Jeff

On a tight budget, try Microphone Madness. They can terminate their mics for any wireless transmitter, have real people to answer your questions if you call them, and the prices are friendly.

MM gets suggested often on the forums, you might try a search and see if others have used these mics in situations like yours.

I would say don't go with anything cheaper than the Countryman, and I would really suggest you look at the DPA 4088, its a great Mic on a lively stage. However if you don't have the money to spend on one of those i would suggest that you look at some of the non low profile options such as Audio Technica ATM 73ac.

Another vote for Countryman Isomax Headset Mic. Price is great, works great, small EQ needed, stable for feedback.

Typed on a virtual keyboard.

Re: Looking for microphone for worship leader, Church

Is this for spoken word or lead vocals with a full band......or both, do you use stage monitors?
The omni earset mics with live band would not be good choice and all but forget about using stage monitors at any real working level. Don't confuse the Countryman Isomax with a Countryman E6, the Isomax would be viable choice on a live stage and at about twice the price so would the DPA4088.
The ATM73 is a good suggestion, sounds really good and can be had for under $200. It's going to show more than the others but in this case I don't think seeing the mic is really a bad thing.

We have a traditional worship service (read pianos/organ/drums/violin) with stage monitors.

Looking into all of our options, thanks for the suggestions so far!

We have the G2/G3 and use the Microphone Madness with it and it works fine. We use it primarily for the preacher only but we have used it for vocals too. I would love to have some DPA's but sadly they are not in our budget either.

Went ahead and got the MM.
So far I'm impressed with it. We will actually use it this Sunday, but practice seemed to go pretty well.

Re: Looking for microphone for worship leader, Church

Thank you everyone for the suggestions MM is light years above the sound we were getting.
