Re: Looking for speaker processor options prefer 4 x8 , or EV factory setting capable
The Netmax is a great step up from any of those units listed, other than the DX46. Both the Nexmax and DX46 will allow you to use FIR filters on your wedges instead of traditional filters. Both of these will also have TEMP limiting options to protect your speakers coils from excessive heat. The Net max can be set up in many different ways, in groups of 8. (i.e. 8 inputs 24 outputs, 16 inputs 16 outputs, 24 inputs, 8 outputs) This will all depend on what cards you decide work best for you. Instead of using the standard Analog input card, I would suggest getting the Mic Input card. Then you can always use it as a simple mixer if you need something small.
Costs wise, the Netmax seems pretty expensive until you realize its potential and size. A Netmax loaded with 4 cards will be just under 4k, but if you wanted to do the same amount of inputs/outputs using DX46 controllers you would spend more and need twice the number of spaces in your racks. If you decide on another route, like XTA, KT, you can always have EV assist you in getting the correct settings in the controller for your set up. We have helped other people get EV settings into their non-EV controllers for their non EV amps. If you end up needing some help in that area let me know. timw@intellasound.com
