Re: Looking for speaker processor options prefer 4 x8 , or EV factory setting capable All of the EV preset information is available for DX-38 and DC one, but like Kent said...you would have to manually enter the data into the unit, but they do actually have those values. If you tell them what amps you are powering your amps with they can usually assist you in setting up the proper limiter values. As far as a quick answer on the comparisons between FIR and non FIR filters: The FIR filters have steeper slopes which will create less distortion and more output. They also allow more EQ capacity, which will allow for a better tuned preset. The FIR filters will also provide a better Linear phase response which will make the monitor more stable with feedback, improved gain before feedback , and they will sound more similar across the stage. The limiters are much better as well due to the FIR filters. Are they worth the added costs? Well that is a personal choice. The difference in our Xlc and X-Line rigs from the old non-FIR preset to the current FIR preset is night and day, and in my view worth every dollar, but some may rather spend those dollars in other places. I loaded each preset into one of our TG-7s and below is what they would each look like to give you an idea of the slope difference. Here is what a IIR filter for the XW15a looks like Here is what a FIR filter for the Xw15a looks like
