Re: matching amp with speakersHis rule of thumb of 50% more power may be low - many recommend double and I have even read in an old live sound manual I picked up - that the power delivery rating should be between 5 and 6 times the speakers av power handling rate. An under powered amp could cause the amp to overheat.
