Hey Folks,

I have this show coming up at a hotel in San Fran in November. As I started advancing the show the production company out there tells me there are 4 Micas per side. He also sent me a room layout and it looks like the audience starts 13' off the stage and goes right back to FOH which is 105' from the stage. To me this does not sound like enough boxes to cover the vertical in the room. I don't have any Meyer software to see what it comes up with. Im just having a hard time thinking this is correct. Just a guess, but I would think 6-8 per side for coverage. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Re: Meyer Mica help

Four Micas can give a nominal 24 degree vertical coverage. Whether that is adequate for the room would depend on trim height.

Flown or stacked? We've used Micas before and they are a pretty heavy box. If that place is like any of the hotels around here they probably only have 500 pound points so that could be the limitation. We've done 6/ side outdoors for a college show with rock music and about 4000 in attendance and the output was fine, but the coverage of 4/ side is a concern for your application.

Re: Meyer Mica help

It's plausible. But having all that power by the stage is going to cause you major gain-before-feedback headaches. Hopefully they can do delays halfway back or something. Even speakers on sticks along the sidewalls might help.
