Just mixed a show on the Pro 2 and was amazed at how 'sparse' the iPad implementation was. Is there a plan to improve this?

It took a while for the second version to come out. Major improvement on the first. I'm hoping they continue but not holding my breath till it's out.

Someone has gotten used to a more full featured app eh
I think that the new standard for remote tablet applications is going to be that you can do anything you can do on the console. This was not the case previously. The remote app was seen as a simple interface used to ring out monitors and do a walk around with once in a while, not to run the show from...... at least that is my take on the matter.

I agree. My show was such that I woukdnt mix on the tablet, and most shows that require a Pro2 or more, will be big enough to have dedicated FOH setups.
