Midas Pro1 - bypass admin password to upgrade

Hi all,

Client has a Midas Pro1 which needs a firmware upgrade in order to talk to a stage box which has a later version (it's flat out not working as it is).

Problem is there is an admin password which has been set; a few staff changes and no-one knows what the password is. Upgrade cannot continue without the password.

So.. is there a way around this ? Client is happy to do a complete factory reset and get console back to stock standard condition if need be.

I'm about to contact Midas UK website; local oz guys are asleep; will try them tomorrow morn but need to try all avenues right now.

Regards,

Andrew

I wasn't aware that you could set an admin password on the pro series. Could you talk us through your upgrade steps and whether the system can see the upgrade file?

Thanks

Dear Andrew,

The ‘Admin’ preference is used by our CARE service personnel for diagnostics and other higher-level functions. When updating the console, make sure they place the TAR upgrade file in a folder labeled ‘DL1Upgrades’ on the USB stick.

I wasn't at the console so not 100% sure what happened; but appears either the USB stick wasn't working properly or files were in the wrong folder.

New stick, files in correct place; upgrade successful.

Many thanks to Midas for prompt response - got email from Midas UK overnight and response from Oz guys as well.
