I mix at a small venue on an older Soundcraft Spirit FX8, and we will soon be upgrading to a Spirit M8. I just reconfigured the PA to run in mono (just using the left main output) in order to free up a return on the 8x4 snake for a second monitor mix on stage. With bands this is fine because all sources (mics) are mono by definition. In between bands the venue plays music with a little internet radio box. Rca / headphone outputs routed to one of the stereo channels on the board. I need to sum this signal so we're not losing the right side of the audio signal. Whirlwind makes an ipod DI box, but I don't have a free mic pre for that. Basically I need to sum the signal but still have two cables, for a dual-mono signal. The spirit boards have a "mono sum" output but this is already being used to pipe audio to different zones. Any tools out there that would help with this?
