My dad bought a Saab 99GL back in '77. I grew up in that car and it lasted untill 2003. A sad day when we finally had to send it away. But it did close to 500.000km on one engine, gearbox and drivetrain without any major repairs. And it would always start, even when the temperature dropped below -30C, a lot of more modern cars don't do that :)

My '91 went 300,000 before giving it up. Never added a drop of oil.
It was all the little things that started piling up. Mostly electrical and hoses.

I did get a 9.5, 2004. It has a towing capacity of 3500 instead of 2200 lbs.

GM blocked a sale of SAAB assets to a chinese company because they didn't want to compete with technology they transferred to SAAB, in the China market.
