Didn't want to hi-jack Adam's thread, so I figured I would start a new thread. Since everyone loves a little gear porn, here's what I'm out with currently.

Evan, how do you find this round of working with the Pro6 having come from the SC48? I have tinkered with the Pro6 but never mixed on one. I like the workflow, wondering how the comps/gate/fx etc compares, and anything else you found significant.....

Jeff,
Sonically, there is no comparison between the VENUE stuff and the Midas desks. The Midas blows it out of the water. I find the EQ to be much more responsive, and in term I find myself using less and less EQ to do what I need. The comps are very smooth, and sound very natural. The "vintage" comp is my personal favorite, while the "corrective" comp works very well for inconsistent singers. The gates are on par with the VENUE gates. They get the job done, and are easy to adjust. I like that you can fine tune the keys on the gates a little more on the VENUE software, but the gates on the Midas desks do pretty well. Oh, and the built in efx on the Midas desks are top notch. The tap delay kind of sucks, but the reverbs sound very nice.

Overall, I just plain enjoy mixing on it. The POP groups and VCA spill make getting to what I need very simple, and the right hand side of the desk pretty much never gets used. I really want to get my hands on the Pro 2 next.

So, I know we're all audio nuts here.... and those are some great audio toys.

But I have to give props to the lighting guy. I really, really LOVE that visual look. Please tell your squint that this audio guy really likes it.

Now back to our regularly scheduled audio happiness.....

It's impressive to me how these tours are getting so streamlined. I don't know if your UK leg is the same band line up as what's coming to Canada, but it seems like everything from the audio and lighting, foh toys, stage gear, musicians use of IEM, (plus a whole lot of other things off the top of my head) make it for an easy in/out. These shows sound better, look better and do it with less footprint, and probably less overall manpower as well as a lower cost of transportation.
Overall pretty sweet.

just returned from a hands-on training/seminar on the Pro2/C:
basically, it's a slimmed-down verion (56in - 24+3out) of a Pro3/6/9 in a very light housing. it has the newest software with more/better/different "plug-ins", which will also be avaiable to the bigger Pro series soon (Prolight&Sound end of march in Frankfurt 8)~8-)~:cool:)
...and you're right, with the vca and pop groups it's fun to mix and easier to operate!
