my 25w2rj fell out. problem?

This resistor thing snapped off of a circuit inside my cheapy powered wharfdale foldback.

It's been rattling around for a few months inside the box, speaker still works. What does this component do? Any repercussions if i dont replace it? Blown speakers etc?

I can't say what will happen but I imagine the design engineer thought it was important enough to increase the cost of the speaker.

I guess it is a 25 watt 2 ohm power resistor. probably white and rectangular.

If the leads and the body are intact it may be able to be soldered back in place.

Sometimes I can drill a couple holes in the PC board adjacent to the resistor and strap it in place with a wire tie.

Sometimes these are fixed in place with bathtub caulk.
