Re: My Mixer Problem

I can't really recommend anything because I've hardly used any of the stuff myself, so I'll leave particular recommendations to others.

However, let us start with the basics. What are you planning to do in terms of recording? Is it mainly synths and midi messages and very few microphones and other equipment in need of preamps?

Why do you want a Mackie controller with extender? Is it primarily for mixdown?

Why do you want the Apollo interface? Is it because of sample rate? What were you planning to plug into it?

Assuming you want to record anything as long as the is analogue, you want to monitor during recording, and you want to mixdown in a daw, using real faders to control the daw. You can do all of this with the X32, and you don't need anything else.

Assuming you want to record midi from a keyboard and a wind controller, you might need a good midi interface with multiple midi inputs or a couple of low cost interfaces that are able to coexist. There are plenty to choose from, M-audio is a good place to start. Most midi keyboards will let you pass midi through it, so you might not need more than one interface, and since most keyboards also will do USB, you might not need a midi interface at all. You can not use the X32 as a Midi interface.

The integra can record sound directly to daw via usb (that will save unneccesary da-ad conversions), and it will work as a midi interface thru the usb connection.

So first of all, what specifically are you wanting to achieve with your setup?
