[QUOTE="John Roberts, post: 30955, member: 126"] Re: NBA Playoffs: Dallas edition There is much emotion in these playoff games. Experienced players channel it, and refs job is to keep it from getting out of hand. something happened that stopped their scoring inside. As we get older we must adjust our game for reality. Maybe you haven't had to yet? :-) Jason Kidd is no fool, so he developed a credible three point shot, to compensate for his declining quickness that made it harder for him to get to the hole. Many people have already washed out of the game by his age but he is on his later chapters. They seem to be figuring out their roles... James has risen up to embrace the old criticism that he couldn't close out games, and now is Mr. 4th quarter. He spends the first three quarters distributing the ball and getting everybody going, then he takes over when it matters. I was impressed by Wade's multiple shot blocks as the game was winding down. He was making a statement too. I remain critical of the refereeing.. it seems half the time, the call is a make good for some earlier missed call, so not linear cause and effect. Funniest thing I heard was Reggie Miller, announcing the game, when Lebron got called for an offensive foul, and Reggie is right there "yeah look at that.. he fouled him". Reggie was one of the worst about offensive funny business on the court... it's all part of the game. I think we need a new kind of technical foul, for blatant flops. The acting out there sometimes can be embarrassing. I look forward to a hypothetical future where players wear pressure sensitive jerseys and computers call all the fouls. IMO too much subjective room for interpretation and in low scoring games it can make a big difference. Funny lately we've been having too many peeps, but they thin out when games are on... My regular game is on thurs nights. We have a low ceiling on one end, but from the corners you are past the low ceiling obstruction so can pretty much throw up rainbows again if you want. I have to tell the newcomers who can't figure that out from observation, to go to the corner and wait for the ball if they can't shoot flat enough from above the key.
