Re: NBA Playoffs: Dallas edition I stopped watching after the game was determined... with a few minutes still on the clock. I could tell by the way the heat were playing that they had no chance. Did James show his ass after he lost? We forget that he's still just a young puke (with a lot of money and skills). They shouldn't have even made it to the finals with this instant team, let alone win the big show. They learned a lot this year and should come back stronger next year, might lose then too. The Mavs deserved the win more this time, so this is all good (even though I was rooting for heat i was predicting mavs). I can't remember a series where the cumulative score of all the games together was so close (up to the last two games). Dirk and Kidd and Terry deserved their rings for a good and long careers. I am always disappointed when really good players retire without any jewelry (guys like Karl Malone, even Barkley) . This is often as much a matter of chance and circumstance, as individual talent or effort. How many rings does Robert Horry deserve? I thought Chandler really made a difference inside for a young guy, he should have a good career ahead of him. JR PS Dirk's shot always "looks" ugly but it was looking ugly and not falling for a lot of last night's game... he made his shots in the 4th, and the rest of his team carried him despite his poor start. ======== [edit] Well I tried to miss it but I couldn't... even the business news channel felt compelled to replay Lebron's comments. Yes, they were not very cool, but he is correct in his perception that many are rooting for him to fail. First for leaving Cleveland, then again for not going to NY or "insert your city here'. He needs to learn how to channel and use that anger, but he shouldn't be surprised. We have of long tradition of rooting against success and taking pleasure from other's failures. I repeat he is just a kid, which may explain but not excuse his comments. I predict he will try to apologize, but that will be too little too late and hard to do as effectively as he made himself look bad while in the spotlight. BTW it was pretty hard to swallow listening to some business talking heads commenting on how Lebron should have scored more in the 4th qtr (duh). They wouldn't know a basketball if it bit them on the ass, the sports reporter in the group didn't say much because this is all pretty self explanatory. The heat did not lose because of Lebron james alone, and Dallas didn't win because of Dirk alone. It takes a team effort including the bench and coaches and even fan energy. Of course I could be wrong. [/edit]
