Looking for something like this

With a 5/8 -27 female thread.

Using them to lock lights onto mic stands.

See pic below.
A mic clip will work, but looks amateur

Re: Need a source for a plastic nut/knob like this

Cool stand idea.

mic stands are an odd thread size though. Here's a last resort idea, though: http://www.amazon.com/Atlas-Sound-AD-11B-Surface-Female/dp/B0002GY12A

A
dd a hardwood disk to it in some fashion, and it might work.

(Not that you asked, but I would have manufactured those end plates such that the mic stand rod ran right alongside the main body of the light strip. That way the center of gravity stays closer to the center of the stand base.)

Milt, if I can't find what I want, what you linked to (in b;lack) is the fall back plan
Plan C is this with something lock-tite-ed to the top:

My guess is the local hardware store has something that would screw on to the 3/8" thread. Prefer a 1 piece solution if possible, though

I agree about the distance away from center of gravity.
I wish they were closer, but didn't want interference w/the DMX cable jacks and other stuff
I am going to use tripod stands instead of round base stands.
