Re: Need an 18 with close to these specs

Hey John,

What are you trying to stick this in? If it's a reflex cab the Fs is pretty meaningless. Vas is pretty large and Qts a little low, any modern 18" will probably be able to take over just fine. Are you looking to save money or gain performance? We have three 18" that would be a good replacement, depending on how much you want to spend.

Hey Bennett.
These are PAS CB2 cabs that I have for club gigs. I bought all the available cones a few years ago. I found one blown the other day. Not high stress situations....always using a Maxxbass....I think matching the sensitivity is most important.

John,

I suggest you try one of our 18TBX100. Specs linked below. It should be very similar, woofer sensitivity isn't really useful when considering subwoofer cabinets. This woofer will be available for a very long time. If it sucks for you we'll buy it back. I would replace in pairs.

The sensitivity numbers (especially between different brands) varies WILDLY -especially for subs and HF drivers. If you look at the response/measurement curves you can see that the "number" could be chosen from pretty much anywhere.

Unfortunately side by side tests are the best way to see if they are the same sensitivity.

I have found that with some HF driver (all highly respected brands) a "printed" difference of almost 10dB results in a side measurement of almost 0 dB. It depends on where the number came from.

And with HF drivers it depends on how it was measured in terms of how it was loaded when measured.

As usual-the "simple numbers" are often not what can be expected in the real world.
