This may not be the right forums to ask this on nor the right section, if not just move it to the correct section please. Okay, so I just got a new Microphone and Gaming headset and after I hooked it all up, I had an issue with the sound when playing games. My sound wouldn't be synced with the actual location of movement. What I mean by that is when someone moves around in the game, I should be able to hear where they're located. The new headset is giving me false locations. Anyone know why this is? And or how to fix it? Sorry if this is the wrong forums to ask on, I just googled "Sound Forums." Thanks!

Re: Need Sound Help

You'll have to change your name to your actual real name.

Are the left and right just the wrong way round or is everything all just in the middle, or something else?

If a grenade goes off to your right what do you hear?

Read the rules, this forum requires use of your real name. You are also not really in the right place.
Alright, I'll change my name.. Sorry about that. How do I do it?

Okay, so say someone throws a grenade behind me, it'll make the sound come from a different direction then behind. It's not always in the same directions. They're just incorrect. It can throw someone off hardcore when it comes to gaming situations.

Re: Need Sound Help

Does the headset just plug into the computer with a connector similar to what you use with an iPod, or is it a USB thing?

If USB, check the manufacturers website for updated drivers for your operating system.

Is it only happening with one game?

Chris, you have my utmost respect right now.

Robert, I think the best thing for you to do is RTFM and make sure you've set everything up right and according to the manufacturer and software developer specifications. At that point, if the problem persists, change your headset to simply stereo operation. It'll be meh but it'll work, I guarantee. If not, WTF did you buy that headset from? The garbage dump?

The headset has a normal plugin jack as a similar connection to an iPod. There aren't any drivers. It's happening with any First Person Shooter game I play, I haven't tested it on any other games. It sounds fine with music. I'll try switching my headphones the opposite way I wear them to see if that makes a difference.

What's RTFM? Return to Manufacturer? I know I set everything up correctly. I don't know if the microphone has anything to do with it, but the microphone is a Samson C01U and I have the drivers installed for it, I have yet to install the Software that it came with on the CD. It's the Sonar CakeWalk software that came with the microphone. I'll change my headset to stereo and see if that helps. Thanks for all the recommendations and glad you guys are helping me! I'll tell you guys if any of those suggestions work!

Re: Need Sound Help

I'm sorry, I'm the biggest idiot out there LOL. I was wearing the headphones backwards. My apologies, I didn't think it mattered how I wore them, but I guess it does lololol. Sorry for the trouble!

Re: Need Sound Help

Now you see why I asked, "if a grenade goes off to your right, what do you hear?" :D~:-D~

How would it not matter which way round you wear them? The left side of the audio goes to the left side of the headphones. If the left side of the headphones are over your right ear...
