Check this out. Could be super cool if you are running any software that doesn't have an ipad app. Just double your monitor and use it anyway. You could carry around your smaart display and wireless measurement mic while the laptop stays connected at FOH. There are many potential uses for this thing...

The app is called Air Display. Pretty fucking slick. Makes me want an iPad pretty bad.

Although there are many other apps that will let you control your computer, and running smaart via the ipad is nothing new, this one turns your ipad into a second monitor so you could have different things on your ipad and laptop screens at the same time
which could definitely be useful.

It's a handy app, but it's wonky for controlling concoles.

what's the difference between this and VNC when it comes to mixing, not technology-wise, but user-experience wise...

With VNC, you are controlling the display on your computer. This acts as a 2nd display. No real difference except you don't see what's happening on your computer display. Don't think that this will let you use the display and the computer separately though. It's still just one computer.
