My MacBook Pro is a lot lighter than my 360 and it's more of a babe magnet. It's all about the chic's lol

My laptop is much more reliable at reading CDs, especially CDRs, than any of the "pro" players I have.

It's a lot easier to edit fades on the fly on my laptop then on the 360.

i think the answer, in short, is yes. i know of many video guys using mac pros as their primary video playback device. this on very high profile corporate gigs. audio is certainly way easier to work with than video...

of course it never hurts to have a backup, but i've had instant replays take a dump on me mid-show too....
