Older yamaha 01v adat out to 01v96 adat in?

I have an 01v96 with 2 adat cards. I can pick up the older 01v with an adat card in it for a very fair price.
For live sound I'm happy running my desk at 44.1-24 bit. Can I use the Adat out on the 01v to go into the Adat in on the 01v96? I can't seem to find for sure that the 01v runs at 24 bit on the adat out.
Anyone know?
Will I have to drop my desk to 44.1-16 bit? I like to record at 24 bit so I'd rather not.

The 01V is certainly capable of outputting 24 bits, although you can dither it to less than that if you like. The digital interface bitstream has space for all 24 bits, whether your signal is dithered to less than that or not, so I can't see that it would be a problem.

Thanks everyone;

I know the 01v is a 20 bit desk with the 01v96 32. I was unsure how the adat transmitted the information. If its a standard protocol then it should work fine. I am going to use the 01v96 as master and just go with 2 adat in/out cables. Clock the 01v via adat.

Thanks again;
