Hi All,

Im a bit of a rookie when it comes to audio so apologies if any of my jargon is incorrect

Im having an issue with my audio set up.

I recently brought an Audio interface (PreSonic 26c) for my Mic (Rode Procaster).

I used to use a mixer (Behringer Xenyx 1204usb) to connect my mic to my PC.

When using the audio interface, i didn't realise how much i missed the compressor on my mixer and found out that i could plug the mic into the mixer and run the output of my mixer into my audio interface.

When doing so, i can only here the audio in the left channel rather than both. I believe its must likely be used in mono channel than stereo.

Both the mic to the mixer and the mixer to the interface are connected via XLR cables

Please can you let me know if i am doing anything wrong.

Many thanks.

Done something wrong?

Well you probably didn't need to post the same thing twice only 8 minutes apart..... ;-)

Also, unless you've got some dodgy Chinese knockoff, it's PreSonus, not PreSonic ;-)

But, being serious, your mic is a mono one so at some point you need to copy that signal to the second channel.
When you used your mixer alone, having the pan control on each channel set to the middle position would accomplish this for you as it automatically outputs both left and right channels to the USB.
Now you've put the interface between the mixer, you'll need to do it one of a few possible ways.
1: connect both outputs of the mixer into both inputs of the interface.
2: use any available settings within the interface to duplicate Ch1 into Ch2.
3: Use any available settings in your computer to do that same duplication.

HTH,
David.
