Opening multiple messages in a thread in tabs

It appears that javascript is being used to switch between messages with in a thread with out reloading the page.



Is there a way that despite this clicking on the link to go to a different message in the thread can open it in a new tab?

In my browser I can just command-click.

I'm using Firefox 3.5.9 on Windows XP, and control + click opens a new tab with the address ''javascript://'' and moves the current page to the clicked message.



I'll be able to check what Firefox/Ubuntu does tomorrow.



IE 7.0/XP control+ click just moves the current page to the clicked message.
