[QUOTE="Steve Milner, post: 24949, member: 9"] Re: OT: has anyone successfully installed Firefox 4.0 on Mac OS X 10.6.7? Sounds like operator error to me. . . I just downloaded the new firefox to try it out, and it loaded up just fine. With that being said, I did NOT have a copy of it on this mac prior to downloading the new version. It seems that your issue is with the permission to rewrite or replace the old copy, not the permissions on the new version that you just downloaded. Simple solution would be to delete EVERYTHING firefox and just download 4.0 fresh. . . otherwise, check the old version to see if you have it protected from being overwritten. Being logged in as an Admin is good, but you still often need to authenticate when rewriting apps or deleting certain files. In summary, firefox 4.0 does seem to load and run fine under 10.6.7.
