Re: OT: has anyone successfully installed Firefox 4.0 on Mac OS X 10.6.7? Firefox has been trying to auto update to 3.6.xx for several weeks now, and has not been able to do so. It just hangs when trying to download the update. Going to Help > Check for Updates, results in a windows that says "A recommended security and stability update is available, but you do not have the system permissions required to install it. Please contact your system administrator," yadda yadda yadda. This happens in both my user account and the admin account. I did find this thread with the exact same problem on the Mozilla support forums, with no fix. We've been able to install Office, Vectorworks, Lightwrite, Protools, QLab, OpenOffice, and Mac OS X update all without issue.
