These are small speakers (but your party is small) so should be fine for some background music but I wouldn't expect rave-like levels. The size of the generator will depend on how hard you want to drive it but for this set up at modest volume I would think you could use a Honda eu2000 successfully. I don't think you're in danger of damaging anything, if you try to drive it too hard it'll sound like crap that's all. If you sustain it at more than that you can probably blow it up if you really try but I'm assuming you'll have more sense than that.Good luck!
