[QUOTE="frederic hodshon, post: 139861, member: 9504"] Re: QSC K12 and KSub Excellent post!!! Excellent thread! I decided on the K Series as a bass guitar rig. K12 and KSub. A little unconventional, but not much really. I customized my Fender Jazz with hum cancelling pickups and a really nice onboard preamp. I LOVE the way the bass sounds into a board - recorded and monitored. when i started looking at live amplification, all the bass guitar amps (head/cab, combos...) colored the sound too much. plus for decent power levels i had to spend a fortune and live with a one trick pony. weighing all factors, it made sense for me to go with a PA setup. EV, RCF, JBL, MIC, KEY... jesus. i went with QSC K series for features, tone, power and price. AND they are local to me. with all the opinions on the web - QSC was either best in class or "if you buy QSC your offspring will sprout horns!" (something i shared with a QSC tech.) something Phil mentioned in the quoted thread... THIS IS PROSUMER PRODUCT. i am a PROSUMER. design/engineer by day, funk/fusion bassist after hours. it's a friggin' hobby. a passionate one, but still. for me the QSC KSeries is perfect. I won't be using it as a PA. small clubs and events. The K12 solo is great for coffee shops and the like. i love it. i get compliments on my tone and the drummer can hear me. what more? oh, when people ask about how i get my tone... they ask about my bass, not my amplification. i think that speaks volumes.
