Dear Presonus users
I have one question about mixer Studiolive 16.4.2.
Because that mixer have just one master fader, with this fader I can control
loudness of two speakers (left and right speakon output) in the same time,
but I want to control loudness of each speaker independently.
How to set up mixer, to send signal from SUB1 to right output and SUB2 to left output?
I have active speakers and I would like to control loudness from mixer.

Good.

You could feed signal to your L and R speakers from the sub out jacks on the rear of the mixer and not use the mains outs at all.

But I fail to see the efficacy of varying the sides of the setup in real time. Why do you want/need to do this?

Umm, might be missing something here but I think what Dick is asking (and what I am also wondering) is why do you need to vary the level of the Left and Right speakers individually? Are you running a stereo mix out front or are you using the left out for a mono front of house and the right for side fills or sending to another area? (as an example)

:)

There is nö need to use the sub-outputs. You can use the xlr outputs and main fader as usual.

Assign the linked subgroup to the main bus and set your two subgroup faders to fit the balance you need for both of your speakers. This way you can use the master fader to control your levels and the subgroup to control the individual levels to L/R.

Thank you. That is right answer. But I didn't know how to set up mixer to link subgroups to the main bus.

Selecc a subgrop and press the link button just as you would do if you link two channels. This will make the odd/even a stereo pair. You don't need to do this if you are running mono as the subgroup defaults to mono when not being linked.

When the subgroup is selected press the main button above the faders to assign the subgroup to the main bus.

make sure rhat the main bus is de-selected for all channels going to the subgroups, otherwise it won't work correctly.

I would like to set loudspeakers in another areas with the various intensity of loudness.
Isn't it more easy to dial the proper level on your speaker?

btw, on the studiolive you have two outputs with separate levels. The main outs and the mono out. This way you can control the different ouput levels with the black trim pots on the back.

Not all active boxes have level controls on them. That said, for the ones that don't, there's usually an upstream system processor of some variant that can provide the appropriate level matching and delay to compensate for speaker placement.

Thank you very much.
