Yamaha makes some AES preamps that may be another option in line with item 4.

Not the cheapest solution, but having more AES would be the most flexible, like you said...straight into DSP/Amps/Other Mixers. The ad8hr can have its gains controlled by some yamaha mixers, but i don't think the 01V
