Re: Random thoughts from 3 weekend shows I think the really appropriate response is that they found the money to preserve the building, they found the money to help bring in traveling bands, now is the time to find the money, either donation or grants, to bring in appropriate tech. In my mind the real double edge that they may not realize is that if they dont improve the sound, people will probably stop attending. If the crowd truely doesn't care and will keep attending then I was the only one concerned and it is unlikely anything will change. Then it comes down to a band decision if the pay is good enough to be worth going there despite the problems. At this point I will give them the benefit of the doubt and hope that improvements are planned. I will report back after the next time I am there. Typically, the band wasn't even aware of many of the problems because it was my job to deal with them, and I don't tend to complain about those types of things during or right after a show. Later on I will examine from my point of view and examine what I could do differently.
