Guys,

i'm will be working with reaper and the x32 for the first time next saturday. Somebody brought me his old computer. This is what I figured out: @1,8 GHz, 1,5 GB.

Is this suitible for 24 - 32 tracks to record and playback? Don't need any processing within reaper.

Should be fine. Reaper has very low processor overhead, Especially when not using plug-ins.

I record 48 tracks simultaneously on reaper using a eight-year-old Apple Power Mac. That barely cracks 22% on the processor speed. What you're trying to do should work okay.

Re: Reaper - x32 - systeem requirements

I'd like to ask about configuring reaper with the X32. I've got some pre-recorded tracks i'd like to play back through the X32 for a live mixing demo. So I created a session in reaper and imported the tracks.

I've loaded the XUF drivers and to the best of my knowledge, it is not possible to configure the individual reaper tracks to individual XUF tracks UNLESS i've got the X32 connected. Is this correct ? If so it's disappointing that I can't configure my session ahead of time. Of course I expect no audio to come out if I don't have the hardware present but, it will save time when I turn up to use someone else's X32 (I don't own one).

And I think I need to uncheck the master/parent send check box for each track; then add new hardware and select an X32 track ?

I was getting confused with reaper seeming to suggest I send tracks to 1-2, 2-3, 3-4..

Could you please let me know if I'm on the right track ?

TIA,

Andrew
