Reconing vs replacement dustcap?

I purchased a couple pair of XI-1152's a few months back. One of them has a busted dustcap, but it seems like it is fully functional. Only reason I noticed was the air coming from the center of the driver. Haven't pulled the driver yet to see if there is more damage but is it possible to just replace the dustcap if not?

Either way, any recommendations on companies to go to in central illinois for reconing?

If the dustcap has a crack in it-they you really need to have it replaced. Sure the speaker will work and "make sound", but the performance has changed.

Replacing a dust cap is no big deal-any decent reconer should have plenty in stock.

I don't know anybody in that area-but google speaker reconing in your area.

And depending on how handy you are-you can do it yourself.

I know it definitely needs replaced and am hoping I didn't cause any further damage between the time I got it and realized what was wrong since I am sure having an extra 2-3" port increases excursion a bit.

If it is still working basically fine-then you are probably OK just having it replaced.
